Saturday April 30 sees the second annual International Mayo Day. Communities from all over the county, the country and indeed the world will fly the green and red that day in honour of their “Mayoness” and show all that is great about their progressive, can-do county.

In the past week, there has been a lot of growing speculation as to who is playing Goldilocks in the upcoming Castlebar Pantomime Production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. New pedestrian crossings to make Ballina safer — Mulherin

Mayo Fine Gael TD, Deputy Michelle Mulherin, has this week confirmed that Mayo County Council is to install two new pedestrian crossings in Ballina town centre, at Humbert Street and Bohernasup Road. Deputy Mulherin said: “I have been contacted by a number of pedestrians, many of them elderly, regarding road safety in the vicinity of the mini roundabout at Humbert Street and Market Square.”

Zombie walk for Áirc

Áirc is a charity that supports children with disabilities in Mayo, and on Halloween night, Saturday October 31, will be holding its second annual Zombie Walk in the town.
